Voyage Group of Magazines shines a spotlight on small businesses, local artists, entrepreneurs and establishments that are the fabric of a city’s individuality. Originating in Los Angeles, Voyage has grown to eight other major cities throughout the US and publishes Voyage MIA in Miami, Florida. Serendipity & Co’s founder, Brittany Cox, lived and worked in Florida for many years and understands the vibrant Miami scene. Since Voyage MIA’s ethos is giving Miami a dash of “small town charm” by highlighting local business leaders, Serendipity & Co spoke with them as an agency focused on small businesses in the city.
Brittany Cox, founder of Serendipity & Co, shared her own path to opening the agency with Voyage MIA. Growing up in a family who owned small businesses from a staffing agency in New Jersey to a bakery in Florida, Brittany was intrigued by the exceptional passion and determination of small business owners. She began her marketing career at a small business marketing agency in Florida before working on preeminent marketing projects in the corporate space in New York City. This unique perspective of marketing at multiple levels inspired her to open Serendipity & Co, an agency that offers high-level marketing expertise to small businesses across the United States, including Miami.
When asked about challenges the agency has faced along the way, Brittany mentioned Serendipity & Co’s ability to weather perhaps the most difficult storm in recent memory for small businesses––the pandemic. Founded in 2019 with several clients in the NYC restaurant industry, Serendipity & Co had to reckon with canceled events, postponed launches and restrictions on indoor dining that followed pandemic lockdowns. Despite these challenges, the agency persevered and focused efforts on creating great content, developing its clients’ social presence and giving back to the community. Maintaining this stability in an otherwise tumultuous time established Serendipity & Co’s determination to work through any difficulty its clients may face.
Lastly, Serendipity & Co shared its future plans with Voyage MIA. The agency is continuing to grow and welcomed its first full-time employee, hired three additional part-time members and increased its client base all in 2022. In 2023, Serendipity & Co plans to welcome more full-time hires to the team to meet its clients’ various needs.
Currently, the agency is looking to expand its reach in the Miami hospitality industry by working with growing boutique hotel clients.
