Monthly Influencer Events at Citizens

Citizens, an Australian-style coffee shop and restaurant, approached Serendipity & Co with the goal of creating a wholistic marketing plan that included a heavy influencer presence. We proposed and implemented a multi-tier influencer strategy that included monthly in-store events that lead to an increase online brand awareness and in-store sales.

Serendipity & Co assisted Citizens by creating a solution that both increased in-store sales and social media engagement through a Monthly Influencer Tasting program. Influencers in New York City get invited to tastings every week, which is why Serendipity & Co ensured that the monthly Citizens tastings stood out. Our team created and invited select lifestyle and food influencers to tastings events like Breakfast at Tiffany’s Citizens, Merch Giveaways and Wax & Wine Music Nights. Serendipity & Co created branded content for each event while ensuring that the influencers had a fantastic experience.

Each of these events with 15-25 influencers generate a surplus of organic content on Instagram and TikTok, leading to an average 81.8% increase in reach and an 48.5% increase in engagement for the Citizens Instagram. Reels posted to the Instagram account also receive an increase of a few thousand views after each event. After the Breakfast at Citizens event where we played the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s while customers enjoyed new menu options, Citizens also noticed an increase in sales for its new Banana Bread French Toast (the most popular item from the brunch).
